Wombat, one of Australia's most popular animals, is a marsupial native to the continent. It has adapted to the various challenging conditions in the southern hemisphere. A unique feature of Wombat is its clear evolutionary return bag, which allows the protection of transferred young when digging in the environment of underground burrows.

The worldwide mintage of the coin is only 25,000 coins and therefore has a high collecting potential.

The reverse side depicts Wombat slumbering amidst the blossoming flowers billy buttons, with a bird called a blue fairywren perched on his back.

On the obverse side of the coin is the official commemorative image of Queen Elizabeth II with the likeness of Jody Clark, accompanied by the dates of Her Majesty's reign - "1952 - 2022". The obverse also shows the monetary value of the coin.
