The base of the Gold Buffalo coin is James Earle Fraser's famous Buffalo Nickel. The obverse features the famous Indian Head design. On the reverse side is the classic drawing of a buffalo, based on the Black Diamond that lived in New York's Central Park Zoo in the early 20th century. The gold bison brings back this design with finer details, creating a collectible coin that is both beautiful and valuable.
